The inside of your cookware is coated with a highly resistant non-stick surface. Before using it for the first time, rinse your cookware in hot water, dry it and pour in a teaspoon of cooking oil. Carefully spread the oil with a clean cloth. Wipe off any excess. You should then condition the pan regularly to maintain the performance of the non-stick coating.
The dimensions stated on the packaging are usually internal but in all cases a small diagram shows what the dimensions correspond to; you should refer to this diagram to interpret them.
It is very rare for the non-stick coating to wear off under normal household use. Proper use and care will allow for better performance over time. Most cases of non-stick wearing have evidence of overheating, scratching and/or abrasive cleaning.
The non-stick coating can resist all known chemical products and is formulated in such a way that it does not break up or flake off in normal conditions of use. If the cookware is not used correctly and particles of the coating are accidentally swallowed, this does not present any danger. These particles are not toxic and are almost completely inert. They will pass through the body without being absorbed.
Any cookware heated to too high a temperature will cause smoke to be released. However, the smoke from non-stick cookware does not involve any risk for humans or pets, with the exception of birds as they have a particularly fragile respiratory system and are therefore sensitive to smoke in general. It is therefore enough to observe good cooking practices and to never overheat your cookware.
